I can’t get my headband to connect to my phone.
If you’re having problems pairing your headband to your phone, first check:
- Is Bluetooth enabled on your phone?
- Is your headband in close proximity to your phone (within 30 ft)?
- Is your headband charged?
If your answer is YES to all of the questions above and you’re still unable to get your headband to connect to your phone, walk through the following solutions in order:
Solution A: Force close and restart the Elemind app.
To force close an app on iOS:
- Swipe up from the bottom of your screen and hold your finger near the middle of the screen until all of your open apps appear.
- Scroll through the list of open apps and find the Elemind app.
- Swipe up on the Elemind app until it disappears from your screen.
To force close an app on Android (version 9.0 and up):
- Swipe up from the bottom of your screen, hold, then let go.
- Find the Elemind app and swipe up on it until it disappears from your screen.
Navigate back to your phone’s home screen and tap on the Elemind app to restart it.
Your headband should reconnect to your phone after you restart the app. If your headband DID NOT reconnect, move onto Solution B.
Solution B: Reset your headband.
To force reset your headband:
- Press and hold the Action Button and the Volume (-) button together until you see a single, brief red light flash (between 8-12 seconds).
- Release both buttons after the red light flash.
Your headband should automatically reconnect to your phone.
If your headband DID NOT connect after resetting it, move on to Solution C.
Solution C: Reconnect the headband from the Settings/Headband/Device Settings screen.
- If active, tap the “Unpair Headband” button.
- Next, go to your phone’s list of Bluetooth devices and “forget” your Elemind headband.
- For iOS (version #.##.# or later)
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth to see your list of available devices.
- Find your Elemind headband and tap on the “Info” button.
- Tap on “Forget This Device.”
- For Google Pixel Phones (Android OS version 9 or later)
- Go to Settings > Connected devices
- Under “Saved devices” find your headband and tap on the gear wheel icon.
- Tap on “Forget”.
- For Samsung Phones (Android OS version 9 or later)
- Go to Settings > Connections.
- Tap on Bluetooth.
- Find your Elemind headband under “Paired devices” and tap on the gear wheel icon.
- Tap on “Unpair”.
- For iOS (version #.##.# or later)
- Place your headband into Bluetooth Pairing Mode.
- Press and hold the Action Button down for 4 seconds until the LED light starts slowly pulsing blue. The slowly pulsing blue light means your headband is in pairing mode and ready to accept a Bluetooth connection.
- Tap on “Pair My Headband.”
- If asked, allow the Elemind app to use Bluetooth.
- If you accidentally hit “Don’t Allow,” go into your phone’s Settings menu, search for Elemind, select the Elemind app, and toggle the Bluetooth setting to ON in the “Allow Elemind to Access” section.
- The Elemind app starts scanning for available headbands. Yours should appear below the “Searching for Headbands” section.
- Double-check the serial number and tap on your headband.

My headband isn’t showing up when the app scans for it.
First, check to make sure your headband is in Bluetooth Pairing Mode. You’ll know whether your headband is in Pairing Mode by a slowly pulsing blue light on the LED panel.
If you don’t see the pulsing blue light, put your headband into Pairing Mode by pressing and holding the Action Button for 5 seconds and release it once you get the pulsing blue light.
How do I force my headband into Bluetooth pairing mode?
Press and hold the Action Button for 5 seconds until you get a slowly pulsing blue light on the LED panel. The pulsing blue light means your headband has successfully entered the Bluetooth Pairing Mode.
